The Background

A decade as a Caterpillar technician

Jake spent ten years working as a Caterpillar technician. That decade covered everything from routine service intervals to major repairs, and it built the habit that still defines the work today: diagnose it properly, then fix the actual cause.

Those years also set the standard for documentation, torque specs and procedure. A repair either meets the spec or it doesn't, and there's no version of "close enough" on a machine that has to run tomorrow morning.

CAT equipment is still the majority of the work. Decker's Industrial is an independent service company, not a dealer and not affiliated with Caterpillar Inc., and services all makes and models of off-road equipment and industrial machinery.

Why go independent

After a decade as a Caterpillar technician, Jake now runs Decker's Industrial as an independent mobile service company. The work is the same standard he was trained to, done on your site instead of in a shop.

When you call, you reach the technician who does the work. Jake answers the phone, makes the diagnosis and performs the repair, so you get a straight answer on what failed, what it takes to fix it and when it can be done.

What mobile field service means when you're down

A down machine usually means a stalled crew, a missed pour or a facility running without backup power. Hauling it to a shop adds a lowboy, a queue and days of lost production before anyone even looks at it.

Mobile service skips all of that. A fully equipped truck comes to the site, diagnostics happen where the machine actually failed, and most repairs, including hydraulic work, electrical troubleshooting, engine work and complex repairs, are completed on site.

For facilities running industrial generators, that same approach extends to scheduled preventative maintenance contracts and 24/7 emergency response.
